I've been building software professionally for 8+ years, mostly web and mobile apps, along with the backend systems and cloud infrastructure underneath them. I've shipped and operated apps serving millions of monthly active users across fintech, automotive, and enterprise teams.
I like simple designs, boring technology that works, and code the next person can read without asking me what it does.
What I do
Full-stack engineering
8+ years designing and building web applications end to end: data models, APIs, and frontends I'm not embarrassed to show a designer. Comfortable with monoliths and microservices, and I know when each is the right call.
Scalability
I've built and operated systems behind apps with millions of monthly active users. That means caching strategies, horizontal scaling, load testing, and the database tuning that keeps p99 latency honest when traffic isn't.
Observability
I'm an expert in the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir), plus Prometheus and OpenTelemetry. I wire up metrics, logs, and traces so incidents are found by alerts, not by users. Alerts people don't mute are a specialty.
Cloud & infrastructure
Deep, hands-on experience with AWS and GCP: containers, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud bills that stay predictable. I like infrastructure that is boring on purpose.
Technical leadership
Led development teams on fintech, automotive, and enterprise projects. Mentored junior engineers, ran code reviews people actually learned from, and kept delivery predictable without burning anyone out.
Mobile development
Shipped cross-platform apps with React Native (Expo) and Flutter, plus native work in Swift and Kotlin when the platform demanded it.
Selected work
Trading platform for a European fintech
I was the sole frontend engineer behind their advanced trading platform, the mobile app, and the backoffice app. All three shipped, and the company has since grown into one of the biggest in Western Europe. You can do the math on how much of that UI went through my keyboard.
Adtech platform with 2 million monthly active users
I led the architecture and the development effort of moving a US adtech platform from a monolith to microservices, while it kept serving 2 million monthly active users in production the whole time.
Side project
FiskalScan (live on iOS and Android)
A free app that scans the QR codes on Albanian fiscal receipts and turns them into a searchable, exportable expense database. I designed, built, and operate the whole thing myself: the mobile apps, the backend, and the infrastructure it runs on. It is the smallest team I have ever worked on, and the most honest performance review I have ever had.
Research and talks
I co-authored a research paper on predicting outcomes with neural networks in Java, and presented it at Javantura v6 in Zagreb in 2019. The talk is on YouTube.
